Today my friend is burying her husband. He had Parkinson's disease for a very long time. About 18 years I think. She has been taking very good care of him for many of those years when he became unable to care for himself.
It was a sad thing to see him lose his talents. He was a wonderful pianist, organist and hairdresser. And was very good at many other things.
For the last year or so he has had to be in a nursing home because Ruth couldn't care for him at home any longer. It's a sad loss for the family, for friends and for our church.
Rest in Peace, Lane. Your body is whole now and you can play a resounding song in Heaven.
